We pulled out the Turbo and it suffered catastrophic failure (see pic). Trying to figure out what else to do while we wait for parts to arrive.

List of potential projects:
Oil pan drop to check for sludge
PCV6 kit
Clean out Inter-cooler
Clean out throttle-body
Re-torque head bolts

Fortunately, coolant came out clear and no evidence of coolant in oil. There is, however, evidence of oil in cylinders. Crankcase bypass valve seems intact and no evidence of oil around plugs under DI cassette. Concerned about:

  • How to clean inter-cooler of oil
  • How to assure cylinders with oil presence will recover without intervention (will it just burn off through use, or should I do something?)
Any thoughts are welcome (follow threads initiated by TRJ on http//www.saabnet.com in the 9-5 bulletin board section: http://saabnet.com/tsn/bb/9-5/
